Interferometer Probe, WIP

Small probes measure with high precision

The WIP is a non-contact fiber optic distance sensor for high precision measurement of geometry, form, and roughness in Werth multisensor coordinate measuring machines. The small size of the sensor makes the WIP particularly well suited for capturing difficult to access geometric features, such as small or deep holes (injectors, turbine blades) and grooves (rotors for electric motors). Due to its very low probing error of 0.25 micrometers, the sensor is also suitable for measuring lens surfaces, lithographic structures on glass, or structures on wafers. The sensor tips typically have diameters between 0.1 to 1 mm and lengths between 5 mm and 50 mm.
